Funded by a NIOSH R03 grant, the goal of this research study was to develop and validate a tool for predicting the risk of a slip and fall injury based on parameters that could be inexpensively measured. Specifically, the study team developed a model for predicting coefficient of friction and then applied that model to predict the slipping risk across different shoe surfaces.
