Where we are
The Human Movement and Balance Laboratory is part of the University of Pittsburgh’s Oakland campus. We are located on the third floor of the Schenley Place building, which is on Bayard Street between Ruskin Avenue and North Bellefield Avenue.

Parking
You can park in the garage located at Schenley Place for a fee. The entrance is located on Ruskin Avenue near Bigelow Boulevard.
Otherwise, you can you can park for a fee at Soldiers and Sailors parking garage which is located on Bigelow Boulevard (between Fifth Avenue and O’Hara Street). Walk on Fifth Avenue (toward Lytton Avenue) for 3 blocks, make a left onto Ruskin Avenue, and you will reach Schenley Place at the corner of Ruskin Avenue and Bayard Street.
Public Transportation
Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) offers convenient bus service to and within Oakland. The closest bus stop to our building is located on Fifth Avenue at Bellefield Ave. If you have questions, visit www.rideprt.org or call the PRT customer service line at 412-442-2000.
Driving Directions
From Points East
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take exit 57 (Pittsburgh/Monroeville exit) to I-376 West. From I-376, take exit 73B (Oakland/Bates Street exit) to merge onto Bates Street. Stay on Bates Street until it ends at Bouquet Street, approximately eight-tenths of a mile. Turn left onto Bouquet Street, then right at the first light onto Forbes Avenue (a one-way street). Take the second left onto South Bellefield Avenue and then turn left onto Bayard Street at the second light. Make the first left onto Ruskin Avenue (once you see Schenley Place on your left) and the parking garage will be on your left.
From Points West
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take exit 28 (Cranberry) and follow I-79 South to I-279 South. Take exit 2A for I-579 South toward the Veterans Bridge. Proceed on I-579 to the Oakland/Monroeville exit, and then exit onto the Boulevard of the Allies. Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies for about 1 mile until the Forbes Avenue exit on your right. Continue on Forbes Avenue (a one-way street) for slightly over 1 mile. Turn left onto South Bellefield Avenue and then make the second left onto Bayard Street. Make the first left onto Ruskin Avenue (once you see Schenley Place on your left) and the parking garage will be on your left.
From Points North
Take I-79 South to I-279 South. Follow I-279 South until exit 2A for I-579 South toward the Veterans Bridge. Proceed on I-579 to the Oakland/Monroeville, and then exit onto the Boulevard of the Allies. Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies for about 1 mile until the Forbes Avenue exit in your right. Take exit 72A (Forbes Ave/Oakland exit) to merge onto Forbes Avenue (a one-way street). Continue on Forbes Avenue for slightly over 1 mile. Turn left onto South Bellefield Avenue and then make the second left onto Bayard Street. Make the first left onto Ruskin Avenue (once you see Schenley Place on your left) and the parking garage will be on your left.
