Bio
Dr. Bicket grew up in Baltimore, MD where she was first exposed to medical device design during high school, as an intern in the John Hopkins Hospital Department of Neurosurgery. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in biology, she earned her M.D. from Duke University, where she carried out ophthalmic photography research aimed at the remote diagnosis of pediatric eye disease in underserved areas. During her ophthalmology residency at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, she discovered a passion for the innovations changing surgical glaucoma care and a love of long-term patient relationships, education, and advocacy. Dr. Bicket briefly returned to Duke Eye Center for a glaucoma fellowship before joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins, where she practiced for 5 years while working on new glaucoma surgical devices and studying the treatment preferences and experiences of glaucoma patients. She is thrilled to be joining the team at Kellogg Eye Center and continuing her research at the University of Michigan.
